5 Ways to Have Your Best Month Yet //

Welcome to September friends!

Who's ready for an awesome month ahead?

In the southern hemisphere we're welcoming Spring and I couldn't be happier - not only is this my absolute favourite time of the year, but it's also a great opportunity for a bit of a 'spring clean' to clear out the clutter, simplify, and get a renewed sense of energy, regain focus and clarity to have a kick ass remainder of the year.

And so you can make your September awesomely productive, today I'm sharing 5 practices to help you jump-start those plans you've been thinking about to spur you into action.

Clear the clutter.

Now is the time to get organised and clear out anything that is no longer serving you. Dedicate a day to getting your home and workspace in a state that is conducive to you being most productive in both your physical and digital surroundings.

Physical space.

+ Clean out your workspace, file away papers, tie up any loose ends.+ Set up a folder system so you can file your important papers straight away + they're not left piling up or lying around.+ Organise your desk + give everything a home. I find using varying sized boxes in my workspace is a great way to reduce clutter - they look pretty and are a practical way to store your belongings. My favourites are these from Kikki K.

Digital space

+ Review any recurring payments for subscriptions + cancel those that are no longer providing you value.+ Clear your desktop and organise your folder structure so that all of your files are saved in the relevant folders. + Delete any images + large files that are no longer needed and taking up space.+ Unsubscribe from emails clogging your inbox and that are not serving you. is a lifesaver -  - it literally does a scan of your inbox for all of your active subscriptions so you can delete them on the spot! How's that for efficiency?

Define your goals.

Be clear in terms of what you want to achieve. Using the SMART goals method (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, timely) means you'll have a self-imposed deadline so you can keep yourself accountable and gives you specific parameters for what you need to achieve.

For example, say you want to set up a blog - rather than having a loose goal of 'setting up a blog', make it SMART by stating "I will set up my blog and have my first post published by 15th September on the Wordpress platform". 

Create a daily to-do list.

Once you have clearly defined goals and the timeline for which you need to achieve them, make daily to-do lists so you know exactly what you need to get done each day. 

Every night, create your to-do list for the next day so you can hit the ground running in the morning.

Planning gives you a good overview of how the day should look and means you can easily schedule anything that falls outside of this accordingly.

Number your tasks from 1-10 with 1 being your first priority to complete. Start with your Number 1 each day - that way, you're always going to knock off the hardest thing first and won't miss anything important.

Remain focused.

The commitment to your goal is all in the action which requires consistent and precision focus. One of the main reasons so few of us achieve what we truly want is because we never direct our focus.

Now I know this is much easier said and done, especially when there are so many wonderful distractions to keep us entertained, but creating good habits means you'll be able to focus on what you need to get done.

Here are 4 habits that will help keep your focus laser sharp - + Set yourself a timer for 20 minutes and give your full attention on the task at hand for this time. + Keep your daily goals list somewhere you can see it and as you finish each item, cross it off the list. + When working, close all other tabs and applications you aren't using on your computer. + Put your phone away and completely focus on what you're doing.

Be persistent.

Be persistent and you will succeed, don’t consider failure an option. It won't all be smooth sailing, but when roadblocks get in your way, change your route and find another way…don't give up. 

Above all else, believe in yourself + stay positive. You have complete control over your thinking, so use your power wisely to propel you forward and motivate you to where you want to be.
